Light-colored clothing also helps. ;-) Daniel and Mayra, the owners, are very nice and helpful. It was really nice to meet them! A must is swimming in the Cumbaza River – it's a great way to recharge your batteries! A trip to Catarata Huacamaillo is also highly recommended. You should allow enough time (at least 5 hours) to enjoy it to the full. You cross the river six times and then back again! Really great! It's best to visit the jungle during the dry season. Then you can go on more excursions. We also visited the Salto de la Bruja waterfall, which is very beautiful. All destinations can also be visited privately. You don't need a tour. However, you should find a taxi driver right at the beginning, because you will definitely need one to go on further excursions from Puqio. We traveled with Nixon – he was great! A visit to the Amazonia chocolate factory should also be on the agenda. We stayed at Puqio with our two children (8 and 11 years old) and really enjoyed it! The children fell in love with the place from the very first moment. For younger children, the location could be difficult, as the property is somewhat steep and you have to go up and down a lot. In addition, the houses are not designed for smaller children. It was perfect for our children. We had a very relaxing week at the Puqio Ecolodge and can highly recommend this accommodation!
