Dean and Tomoko are very nice and helpful people, we felt welcome and since begining till very end they were helping with great tips and advices about the city, restaurants and attractions at place. Wow! All the special touches on top of an already perfect accommodation! We felt well cared for, like old friends. The extra large soaker tub was well appreciated after hiking the Abel Tasman. Quiet, despite being next to the road, with lovely little private patio and garden. Short stroll along the river to the grocery for dinner makings. Couldn't have been better.

At first look the bright yellow exterior is interesting but let it not deter you from a really well run property.
Belinda is thorough, attentive, prompt and efficient. Thank you for our warm welcome, super clean rooms and the magnificent view of the marina. We really appreciated how well kept and neat our rooms were. The beds were so plush and comfortable and air-conditioning perfect. Loved that the rooms had SkyTV.
Our stay included breakfast and I must say that in all my travels around Aotearoa, this was one of the neatest, most thoughtfully laid put motel breakfasts. It was simple but fresh and the note to GF eaters like myself was truly appreciated.
Definitely a property we will recommend or be back at when in Nelson next.

An exceptional lodge that positively delivered way more than the photos and descriptions indicated. Spacious living areas and bedrooms, well equipped, lots of homely personal touches and a most delightful place generally to gather with friends or family. Despite the chilly weather we were very warm and cosy. The fireplace is a feature and something else!
