The location is perfect and the Lodge is very comfortable and clean with a fabulous vista surrounded by beautiful gardens. Alli and Glyn, the hosts were friendly, welcoming and helpful and they provided us with everything we needed for a perfect stay. The breakfast hamper Alli provided was very special and included her fresh homemade bread and granola, locally sourced fresh produce and her homemade treats, were delicious. The tranquil and relaxing environment of the lodge was fabulous and is near to Lake Taupo and a number of attractions in the surrounding area.I would not hesitate in recommending Hares Rest.

Which has superb views of the lake, and hills surrounding it, the property is modern and spacious and superb kitchen , we decided to eat in each night as this property was so good with great views, . Flying trout boutique lodge is one of the most beautiful places I have stayed in the world . We had a lovely suite upstairs with a panoramic view of lake Taupo . Breakfast is wonderful and Karen will insure you are pleased with everything served . Rob is helpful with area info and a few nights he drive us in to town for dinner . We would definitely stay at this charming lodge again - treat yourself if you are in lake Taupo
