Northwood Motor Lodge is a 4-star motel on the edge of Christchurch, only 8km from the airport. The motel offers modern, air-conditioned accommodation with free Wi-Fi. Really loved this old school motel, comfortable beds and ideal hosts. In the morning surprised with a kid’s playground (see pic). One can park directly in front of the entrance of the apt.

Likewise the heater in the bathroom meant the whole place was toasty. We liked that there was an actual table and chairs to eat at, as well as a bench area with bar stools. They have fit a lot in to a good sized space. Perfect for a couples get away or of passing through Lake Tekapo.

The room was airy with two separate sliding doors giving access to the garden and decks with tables and chairs for dining outdoors. The room got the morning sun. The bathroom was spacious, and two glass walls of the shower opened right up. The breakfast was laid out for the guests from 8 to 9am, and included mostly breads and sugary things and dairy, which is typical for European breakfasts. I don't eat sugar or dairy, but managed to find enough: boiled eggs, fresh fruit and cold cuts.
