Located high on the hills above Ella, the property offers breathtaking mountain views that made every morning feel like a scene from a postcard. Despite being just 10 minutes' drive from Ella town, the cabins are tucked away in a peaceful and private setting, allowing for complete relaxation while still being conveniently close to restaurants, shops, and local attractions. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always available to assist with anything I needed and full of great local recommendations. One of the highlights of my stay was the authentic Sri Lankan breakfast served each morning. Flavorful, fresh, and a real treat for anyone wanting to experience true local cuisine. If you're looking for a place that combines comfort, nature, warm hospitality, and convenience, Fern Hill Cabins is the perfect choice. I wouldn’t hesitate to return!

Plus, he's great company! The place is stunning, with a perfect location and a luxurious room. Surrounded by nature, we spotted amazing wildlife, especially the adorable Grizzled Giant Squirrel! The lodge features both WiFi and private parking free of charge. Wow! An oasis just 20 minutes outside of Ella. I would recommend this beautiful accommodation to anyone, espically if you need some peace & rest. Everything was perfect- comfortable bed, clean, hot water, clean spring water that comes out of the taps, delicious home cook meals & a stunning view. The host is so loving and really does everything with his heart, he is so kind and generous. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your help & for making me feel so welcomed. I will truly miss this place.

A fantastic host, and sensational meals prepared by a personal chef…the manager arranged for us a tuktuk to discover the hidden gems of Ella. We had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend this place.

Sat on the train writing this and genuinely feel sad to have left this place. Felt like a home away from home (with better food and views). The whole family are so so kind and we felt like and extension of their family during our stay. The accommodation is lovely with your own separate bedroom and bathroom (even mini fridge) with the most beautiful terrace overlooking the hills. We had some of the best food of our whole trip here. The breakfasts were huge and delicious and they were very flexible with timings so we could get out early for walks! We also did a cooking class with the family which was a highlight and learnt how to cook so many dishes! The son gave us a tuktuk ride to the beginning of our walks and to the train station at 0630am! (and even found out for us that the train was running from the next town instead) We also rented a scooter for the day which was a great way to explore the surrounding area and they gave us lots of pointers about where to go! Cannot fault this place at all. If you are lucky enough they have availability on your dates, definitely don’t hesitate to stay!

Lots of monkeys, i was in the jungle room. It was very tranquil and peacful but really close to the main strip. Higjly recommend, loved it!
