We stayed at Sleeping Trees on Sunset Beach, Koh Rong Sanloem, and absolutely loved it! Originally we planned to stay just one night, but ended up staying three—and we’re so glad we did. This place is incredibly peaceful and beautiful, the perfect spot to unwind and disconnect.
Getting there is part of the adventure: you hike for about half an hour through the jungle, and arriving at Sleeping Trees feels like a true reward after the trek. The beach, the atmosphere—it’s all worth it.
The owner is super friendly and flexible, which made us feel right at home. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the whole place has a really relaxed, welcoming vibe.
We enjoyed some delicious food during our stay—especially the fresh pizza baked in their clay oven. It’s amazing what they can do in such a remote setting! Plus, the price includes lots of thoughtful extras like free water refills and free use of snorkeling gear, which made exploring the beach even more fun.
Every evening we were treated to absolutely stunning sunsets right from the beach. We highly recommend staying multiple nights to fully soak up the tranquility and magic of this place. A true hidden gem!

Its very very very secluded. The host is a lonely young man and he is trying to establish a new an novel business in a beautiful area. The hut is well made. Meals are ordered in from a village.
I had a lovely stay here- the location was perfect- close to lots of restaurants and bars yet quiet at night, right next to a great sunset view. I stayed in the single hut- the bed was comfortable and there was a fan that worked well.
Fantastic resort! We loved our stay and ended up extending a couple more nights. Relaxed and easy to stay in, beach huts are great, pool is lovely and plenty of seating/loungers. Bar staff were friendly. Would recommend the boat trip the resort offers, compared to the other trips on the island we know people booked that were cheaper they had bad experiences, our trip booked with the resort was great and worth the extra money!
I was looking for a remote and basic beach, so none of the questions about facilities and comfort were of any relevance to me. It is a beautiful, peaceful and largely undeveloped beach, and we stayed in wooden beach huts. From that perspective, it fulfilled all my expectations. A particular shout-out to Sebastian, the owner, who was incredibly helpful throughout.
Well resourced wooden cabin with fan, mostiquito net, comfortable bed, desk and hammock on porch.
This resort is absolutely fine for a ‘no frills’ stay in a quiet location, on a beautiful beach with clear, turquoise water. The staff are friendly and helpful and the accommodation (cabins and the wooden bungalows) if basic, is clean and comfortable enough, with air-con.
Staff were especially wonderful, and the location and atmosphere of the place were simply perfect. Remote and peaceful beach with several small beach hut resorts so several places to eat; great combination. Being able to rent kayaks next door was so convenient and going on a bioluminescent plankton night time kayak and swim was magical.
