Wonderfully charming mountain cottage. The cottage itself has everything a visitor needs — comfortable futons, good shower and bathroom, kitchen and, most importantly, a deck that looks out across the mountains to the sea. We visited on a hot August day, but the cottage enjoyed a fresh breeze that immediately cooled us off. I would highly recommend the cottage.

I likes absolutely everything about this property! I expected it to be very ‘rustic’ considering the price but it was perfect! The rooms were super roomy (not just by Japanese standards..) and super clean and equipped with everything you might need to warm/cook your meals, comfortable beds and best of all- beautiful French doors by the kitchen table where the deer approach in the morning. The staff that was working (or manger?) was incredibly kind and helpful, giving us pointers about the area, he even pointed out an illuminated temple nearby. Made our stay extra special. Would wholeheartedly recommend!

Kokuryōにある古民家オーベルジュmoccaは、山の景色を望むユニット（無料WiFi利用可）、庭、テラス、レストランを提供しています。このロッジでは、無料専用駐車場と共用キッチンを提供しています。 キッチン（冷蔵庫、電子レンジ、コーヒーメーカー付）が備わるロッジです。バスルームにはビデ、無料バスアメニティが備わります。また、タオルとベッドリネンを用意しています。... よくある古民家なのですが、蔵と廊下が接続されており 蔵に寝室とトイレ、バスルームがある構造でした。 古民家と蔵が分かれていることで、生活リズムが異なる友人同士でもストレスなく過ごすことが出来ました。 10m以上あるもみの木からぶら下がるブランコと篠山のウグイスが疲労を癒してくれます。 シャワーもお湯が出る　お風呂も湯沸かしがありました。 トイレも泡の出る比較的新しいタイプのものでした。 女性でも安心して利用することが出来ます。

高島市にあるたらいち邸は庭を提供する宿泊施設で、氣比神宮まで28km、近江舞子水泳場まで34km、小浜駅まで40kmです。このロッジでは、無料専用駐車場、共用キッチン、無料WiFiを提供しています。... It is an old style house, so as long as you aren't expecting Western/modern comforts, it's fantastic! My daughter called it the Totoro house. You will sleep on Japanese futons that you lay out on the tatami mats - if you've never slept on a futon it might feel uncomfortable/hard compared to Western beds. You will eat sitting on the tatami mats, but there are a couple of small Western chairs if sitting on the floor is difficut. The bathroom is Japanese style with the toilet in one section, the sink/vanity in a second section and the shower with separate furo (deep bathtub for soaking after washing in the shower) in the third section. It was not the most modern but all clean and more spacious than the Western hotel bathrooms we had other parts of Japan! There is a TV, wifi worked great and a bluetooth speaker to play music. There aren't a lot of "tourist" attractions nearby but it you want serenity this hits the spot - a few steps away has you walking among farming fields and the house is also close to the forest with a little stream running along side the road making for a peaceful but easy walk up the mountain. The gohan (rice) cooked in the old style stove was the best we ate our entire trip! Wish we had bought some of the local rice. It can get a little smoky when dinner is being cooked but my mild asthma was fine. The host, Hiro, is amazing, super accomodating and friendly, he introduced us to his shiba inu (dog) and his duck, and even though we didn't ask ahead, he prepped for us to make tofu - this experience was an extra fee but totally worth it! During the winter you can also request mochitsuki (pounding rice into mochi) and summer/fall you can make noodles (can't remember if he said soba, ramen or udon). Hiro's English is limited, but he's so engaging, we asked him to eat dinner with us and my daughter loved that...he has such good energy!
