We reached very late at night and had requested that some food be kept aside for us. Even though the restaurant had closed, the watchman, Naren Singh, opened it for us and served us a hot meal. That gesture alone set the tone for the stay. The location is exceptional. The rooms are built into the original fort structure, right beside the ancient gate. The stone-walled, gothic-style rooms retain the character of the fort, while the interiors have been tastefully upgraded for comfort. The café is one of the strongest highlights. The menu is simple but thoughtfully curated, and the food was consistently good. With different dietary preferences in our family, we still found enough options for everyone. The staff deserves special mention. Nilesh, who served us during most of our meals, was attentive, warm, and quick to suggest dishes based on what we like. His cheerful nature makes the experience even better. Ashutosh was equally helpful, guiding us on what to see and do in Maheshwar - his recommendations were spot on. The managers were efficient and supportive throughout. Watchment during the day (Manohar) was also well-mannered. A genuinely welcoming place with great food, unique rooms, and an outstanding team. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Maheshwar.
