Amazing time at the Lodge. Not only was the food (even catered for vegan) fantastic, but the ability to hike and mountain bike around this huge reserve gave us real freedom to experience the land and wildlife. Thank you Willem for your hospitality.

We got clear instructions beforehand so check in was extremely smooth. The location is stunning and we enjoyed every minute of it. Staff was very helpful and friendly.

The lodge was everything we had hoped for, and the view from our lodge was mesmerizing. The lush garden filled with birds provided a serene retreat, and the pool was the perfect place to relax and 'rest the soul' (and if the soul requires a cocktail, that can be arranged too 😌). The restaurant was quaint, offering delicious ostrich specialties...as we are in ostrich capital of the world! However, what truly set this experience apart was the hospitality of Len, Hennie, Leigh-Vonne and all staff. They didn’t just welcome us—they created a genuine sense of connection, making us feel like more than just travelers passing through. Genuine, warm ...ánd fun! Everything! The host Richard is the most charming, warm host I have ever met. The property is perfectly situated in a very safe, quiet upmarket area. It is quiet and feels like you are out on a farm, yet so close to town that you can take a refreshing walk. I heard some lions in the mornings from a game reserve nearby. Simply lovely. The facilities were more than adequate and I had eveything I needed and more!!

Only 10 km from the famous Cango Caves, De Poort Country Lodge offers self-catering accommodation. A continental breakfast is available on order at an extra charge and only available as room service....

A wonderful accommodation in a quiet location surrounded by beautiful nature. The charlets are tastefully furnished. The breakfast and dinner are really delicious! Varley and his wife are wonderful hosts and warm people who went above and beyond to help and support us in a minor medical "emergency"! Thank you for that!!! We can highly recommend them!
