Staying in this treehouse was an unforgettable experience! The owners are the kindest people I've ever met. They welcomed us with delicious snacks, refreshing cold towels—so refreshing in the heat—fresh fruits from their garden, and delightful homemade lemon juice. As a thoughtful gift, they even offered us cinnamon sticks from their own tree! The treehouse itself is beautiful and has everything you need, including air conditioning, a refrigerator, and a toilet. Sleeping among the trees in the jungle is truly special. In the morning, even we told the owners that we are leaving really early, they prepare food for us. Breakfast was fantastic, featuring fruits, vegetables, and spices from their garden, which was simply amazing. This lovely couple truly embodies the warmth and hospitality of Sri Lanka. I can’t recommend this place enough!

This is the perfect place if you want something quiet and relaxed. It’s placed in the most amazing nature, with a good chance of seeing wild animals :))) With a scooter it’s only 5-10 minutes from the beach and Weligama and mirissa The rooms are so nice and clean with good ac :)) The hosts offer to make both breakfast, lunch and dinner for you, with a small cost Overall amazing place to stay :))))

My recent stay at Charming Dark Lodge in River was nothing short of exceptional, marking it as the best homestay experience I have ever encountered. From delicious lunches and dinners to delightful surprises and the most mouth-watering fish barbecue - probably the best meal I have had in the two months I have been in Sri Lanka. Immaculately clean, equipped with a kitchen containing everything one could possibly need, and beautifully built and decorated. Originally intending to stay for four nights, we found ourselves captivated by the charm of Charming Dark Lodge, extending our stay to twelve nights. A particularly memorable moment was celebrating my birthday during our stay. Everything! The garden, the bungalow with it’s private space outside to chill, the common areas where people got together to drink, eat or just chat… It’s also a 1 minute walk from the beach and literally 30 seconds from awesome coffe shops and restaurants. The hosting family is kind and will help you with anything you need. I had the chance to know more about them and how midigama has evolved in the past 40 years. It was really interesting and they are the sweetest people. Also, 2 great surfing spots just a few minutes walk from the bungalows. I will surely come back! Thanks for everything!

Great property with beach front access and great facilities such as the pool. Friendly and professional staff who was always available for our needs and unbiased recommendation's of local activities and restaurants. Abheetha the manager and the team went beyond to make sure all our needs were met, the chef's teams food was just delicious, especially the curated Sri Lankan meals created for us whilst there. Highly recommend to eat some meals at the property as they were the best we had during our trip in Lanka. Great property and look forwarding to coming back soon.
