Cute cottage, perfect for a countryside escape in Japan. There is an amazing heater so it’s always warm inside. The sauna is a great feature, just make sure you heat it up way ahead. Everything is clean and prepared for your stay, including an equipped kitchen. The second floor is so cosy, and there’s even a balcony! And I love the tatami and futon downstairs, which is a room that can also be used as a kids’ play room. The self check-in process was super simple, you can check in anytime you want after the check-in time.

The check in information was clear to understand with directions easy to follow. We enjoyed the small details like arranging exactly 8 pairs of slippers at the front door for each of the guests we reserved for. It was a nice and thoughtful touch. Very clean home in a beautiful area. Wish we stayed another night!

Very good price, very friendly innkeeper and drivers. There’s a shuttle bus that takes us to the slope (less than 5 min drive away) that runs at 8, 815, 830, 845, 9, 930 every morning and then one back at 4 and 430pm. If you miss the bus you can walk, it’s not too far if the weather is ok. About a 5-10 min walk. We took a bus from the airport to rusutsu resort and were picked up by the lodge shuttle. Rusutsu is not a very happening place après ski wise so we mostly just had konbini dinners. You can dine at rusutsu resort also if you wish, the restaurants open quite late and there’s a bar with live jazz as well

Shiho and Ushu are the most friendliest and helpful people we ever met. They speak very good English and gave us lots of information. F.e. there's a great onsen, only 500 meters from the cabin. It 's only visited by local people. Don't miss it ! We had a problem with the GPS of our rental car and Ushu solved this problem immediately. Shiho gave us the fantastic suggestion of having breakfast in our cabin. The unbelievable tasteful breakfast is made by a friend of her. Shiho brought it herself every morning: a perfect start of the day. The cabin has a fantastic view on Lake Toya and is well equipped. It 's situated in the peaceful countryside, without any disturbing sounds, day and night. Result: we enjoyed a perfect sleep. Once back home we will think often of our stay at this cabin and at her great owners.
