Developed in Japan, these cheap 'pod' hotels are a novelty for any traveller. With rows of small single bed enclosed capsules, accommodation is basic and intended to be overnight. There is separate storage for luggage and gender-separate communal bathrooms — some capsule hotels also have a sentō, a Japanese bath house, often for male guests only.

The hostel is in an easily accessible location. The staff are friendly and helpful and it the beds are comfortable. There are lockers, a light and plugs in each bunk bed which is convenient and the dorm doors lock.

Double beds!! The pictures don't do justice as to how big the capsules were. Very clean pods and bathroom. The owner was happy to help and his family was friendly too.
