He even cut us fresh coconuts. Room was very comfortable and clean.

Yala Mobile Camping inside the National Park is situated in Katagamuwa. This campground features free private parking and full-day security. On clear days, guests can head outside to enjoy the campground's outdoor fireplace or simply kick back and relax. The very local breakfast was a delightful and authentic experience, and we were so happy that it wasn't too spicy for our taste. Initially, we thought staying inside the national park would be a big challenge, but we were amazed at how comfortable it became once we settled into the jungle. The most incredible moment came in the evening when a leopard approached our tent area. We believe the smell of our cooking meat might have attracted it, and seeing the leopard so close was an unforgettable experience. To top it off, there's a lovely river running just a short distance from our tent, adding to the serene atmosphere.

The campground features a sun terrace and a picnic area. Such a nice experience, the location is amazing, the place is beautiful and lush with pretty vegetation all over, and the room is cute and cozy. But most of all, the family is great and Kumari is sooo sweet and treated us like she was our mom 😍 I highly recommend!

Boasting a garden and views of river, Mallara RestSafari (Cabana & Family Restaurant) is a recently renovated campground situated in Malasnegalewewa, 42 km from Udawalawe National Park. This campground features free private parking and free shuttle service. The campground has family rooms. Had a wonderful experience staying at the RestSafari. The place is set up in a big area where one can rest comfortably, and looks out on the jungle, where many animals (mainly buffaloes, peacocks, elephants, varanes, foxes) pass by during the day/night. Owners (and staff) are taking good care and are very friendly & relaxed. Nice campfires and surprisingly few mosquitoes. Slept really well in the cabana (great experience!) in a nice, natural breeze, and my room had a nice viewing spot to lay down and look out over the jungle area. Possible to take safari’s from here. The food/drinks served were also real good. Happy to have stayed/rested here. For directions: many (if not all) busses from Ella/Wellawaya to Matara/Tissamaharama will pass close by the RestSafari. Get off at 22 Junction (bus drivers know). It will cost about Rs. 200-350, and from the Junction you can take a local bus, tuktuk or arrange something with the RestSafari.

There is a seating and a dining area in all units. Beautiful stay that transported me away to nature. The camp was stunning, with amazing outdoor meals, wonderful trails, and comfortable and well appointed tents. Beyond the site itself, everyone there was so caring, attentive, and knowledgeable. The safari was AMAZING- fun, educational, and we were lucky enough to spot a leopard and even a jungle cat. This is thanks to a keen eye and ability to know where to go, which was also away from the really busy sites so it felt much more private and enjoyable than expected.

Family tents are provided based on requirement. All tents are fitted with comfortable beds, mattresses and pillows. Free drinking water will be provided. All bathrooms are equipped with a Hot & Cold shower. This was such an amazing experience. The we had a lovely dinner at the campfire, a good night in the tent (clean tent) and an amazing morning Safari with a unforgettable view at breakfast. Avkina and all the staff where lovely, great hospitality. Avkina guided us with the night walk and the morning Safari. Higly recommend to accompany a guide with the Safari. We spotted many animals including Leopards and an Elephant.
