The property is non-smoking and is situated 200 metres from Fisherman Village. To get to the hotel, you have to go through the cafe and through the back. You wouldn't know that there was a hotel entrance out back just by being in the cafe. The hotel was very clean and the owners were extremely friendly. Your key card works at the cafe entrance as well when they are closed (11pm to 11am). My wife and I plan on staying here for one more night before leaving Koh Samui. Fisherman's Village is a really nice area to stay in Koh Samui and this hotel was in a very central location.

The accommodation offers a shared kitchen, a tour desk and currency exchange for guests. I highly recommend to stay here!! The first thing I noticed about this hostel was that the owner makes everything clean and organized. In the kitchen, there are basic utensils, electronic pot, microwave, drinking water and fridge. The bed in dorm room is fairly big for one person and comfortable. There are a power socket, personal light for each bed and you can use a locker too. The location was great. 10 minutes walking to the beach, 3 minutes walking to 7-11, a lot of local restaurants, a local market, beverage shops and fruits shops. 10 minutes to massage shop by foot. I could go to the main pub area in 20 minutes by foot as well. But the best thing is that even it is close to all things I need, the hostel area is not noisy. I only can hear the noise from the cars or scooters at night even I used the bed just right in front of the balcony door. As a female solo traveler, I feel it is a quite safe area to walk around at night. People mingle in the living room at night. We talked about our travel stories and shared the recommendations. I have met good travel buddies and we went to the bars a few times. I have to mention the owner of this hostel, Tharita. She is a local and takes care of the guests so well. We shared our personal stories, cooked together and she showed me around the area, recommended the spots and helped me to organize to go to the pier/tour. She is a very nice, lovely and funny lady. She speaks very good English and she is more than happy to let you know what is a real Thai experience. All guests like her and she also likes the influence from other cultures and wants to learn from them. She made my day many times. I'd like to come back this hostel to see her and talk more about our stories. I will miss DK1. P.S: don't be skeptical about the rating. 9.6 out of 10 is real. If you stay at DK1, you will know why this hostel marks so high score. Tharita works really hard to make this hostel nice and feel like home.

This 5-star resort offers room service and a 24-hour front desk. Guests can enjoy a drink at the bar or a meal in the restaurant. Breakfast was excellence, stuff was more then proactively doing everything to make me feel comfortable. Absolutely nothing to complain here, thanks to the awareness of the highly motivated stuff. Only thing I would not book again is the room with the small pool because it was way nicer to go directly to the ocean or to the main pool. But that’s nothing related to the hotel itself. Would definitely come back.

Everyone was absolutely lovely and really going the extra mile to make my stay unforgettable. A special thank you to Ping Pong at the reception! The bungalow rooms are even nicer than on the pictures, they have a special scented oil in the bathroom which means the rooms always smell gorgeous. Beds are very comfortable. I stayed for a week as I was training nearby, the beach is 3min walk from the hotel, there’s a 7-11 around the corner too. It’s quiet, peaceful and makes for a perfect relaxing stay for those looking for a little slice of paradise away from the tourists crowds. I will be back next year with my husband for sure!

If you’re looking for a remote peaceful stay, this is it! The staff are very friendly and the views are amazing, we had a great time birdwatching with the provided binoculars and enjoying the home cooked meals at sunset. The food was excellent and they were very accommodating of our vegetarian requirements, the breakfasts here were some of the best we had in Thailand. The room was comfortable and basic, there were ants in the room which is to be expected in this kind of stay but if you don’t like bugs it might not be for you. This is very remote up a very steep hill and our taxis did struggle to find it so having a scooter is probably best, or being prepared for a steep walk! The staff were all lovely and the host drove us to our next hotel after the stay for the same price as a grab.
