Featuring a terrace and views of city, ibis Styles Chaves is located in Chaves, less than 500 metres from Chaves Thermal Spa and 50m from the city center. Location is perfect. Also the standard ibis quality and functionality of everything. Size of the room and bathroom are agsin perfect. AC works perfect. Parking situation not the simplest, but with a motorcycle one (or even a group) can get away parking on the sidewalk against the wall of the hotel building. Sraff is nice and efficient.

This is a very plush hotel set right beside the castle. The hotel is very modern but has been done sympathetic to its surroundings. Everything is spotless and the staff are excellent. The beds were supremely comfortable.

Offering a terrace and views of the mountain, Candeias do Souto is located in Bragança in the Norte Region, 9 km from Braganca Castle. Guests can enjoy the on-site bar. Everything! Lovely 200 year old house that was beautifully renovated; friendly staff - Diana welcomed us, was so proud to show us around and served us coffee a d tea with cake on arrival; lovely breakfast and very clean rooms. Safe secured parking.

Santa Apolónia is located halfway between historical Bragança and the IP4 motorway. It offers quiet accommodation with free Wi-Fi, a 24-hour reception and free on-site private parking. As typical of Portuguese people, we were greeted with a smile. I needed laundry service because I had motion sickness during the long bus ride. They cleaned my new scarf and jacket without charge! They came back beautiful. Served lovely breakfast in the morning. Will return.

Thank you to the whole family for making our stay a unique and wonderful one. David could not do enough for us. We loved Maria, such a lovely lady. Miguel, the owner, host and chef is a warm, generous man. The girls were also lovely, ensuring our enjoyment, comfort and safety (my husband is disabled and I have some current injuries that affect my mobility). Evenings with a delicious meal and good wines/ports from the estate were unique. There a are so few places that offer the opportunity to sit at a large family table and talk with your fellow travellers from all over the world while enjoying home cooked goodness. The views of the Douro from high on the mountain top were stunning. Thank you everyone for a most wonderful stay. This family understands hospitality in a big way and I highly recommend a visit if in the alto Douro.
