Everything was so clean. The terrace was a lovely place to sit and talk with other travellers. Recommend San Juan if you don’t want the chaos of Pana or the party backpacker scene of San Pedro. A charming town on Lake Atitlan.

The view at this property is genuinely unparalleled with floor to ceiling windows looking out over the volcanoes. The balcony is framed in stunning honeysuckle and tropical flowers that bring hummingbirds right next to you and this is the closest thing to being in nature while still benefitting from the creature comforts of an indoor stay. We didn’t want to move from the chaise beds in front of the window- particularly because the hosts considered and provided so many thoughtful details to enhance the experience (like delicious fluffy bathrobes to enjoy as we drank our morning coffee looking out over Lake Atitlán). We appreciated the yoga mats and the open floor plan that allowed us to do some Barre3 in front of the view with the doors open to bring in the breeze. Even the lighting was extraordinarily thoughtful- with multicolored LEDs enhancing the foliage at night and sound activated lighting that really created some awesome ambiance. And, the host was truly wonderful too, allowing us a later check out so we could properly pack up before our afternoon tour plans in San Juan La Laguna. This was a tremendous value and such an awesome place- we were sad to leave and would stay there again in a hot second when we get to return to San Marcos.

Offering a year-round outdoor pool and located at the edge of Lake Atitlán, Hotel Toliman is set in San Lucas Tolimán in the Solola Region, 45 km from Antigua Guatemala. We came here and immediately fell in love with this place! Everybody is exceptionally friendly, the restaurant stuff is super attentive. The lady who runs the place is such a sweetheart and you can tell that the personnel likes working here. The garden is fantastic and so is the setting. Try the free kayaks. It’s captivating to explore the Lake on your own.

The owner himself takes care of the guests well. It's a little far from the centre but that was I was looking for. The hotel has a private parking space, which makes it ideal for guests travelling by car. I definitely recommend this hotel.
