Excellent, well maintained hotel, perfectly positioned opposite the magical village of Piódão. Professional, courteous staff who went the extra mile to fulfil our varying dietary needs. The pool was clean and a great size and temperature for swimming laps. A huge thank you to Alexandra Vieira on reception who kindly arranged our onward transport as we did not have a car and it is impossible to use Bolt/Uber in this area as we discovered!

Deolinda is a wonderful and welcoming host who made sure we felt at home from the moment we arrived. She greeted us warmly, gave us a tour of the house, and even had the wood stove running in advance—a thoughtful gesture, especially since temperatures were close to zero at night despite it being mid-March. The house itself was spacious, impeccably clean, and beautifully decorated with charming details like fresh flowers on the towels. We also appreciated the bowl of sweets and fruits she had prepared, which added a lovely touch to our stay. The rooms were cozy, tastefully decorated, and the beds were incredibly comfortable. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and truly appreciated Deolinda's hospitality and attention to detail. We would happily return!

We loved our little holiday at Alva Valley Hotel. Staff was very kind and very attentive. We loved the bedroom and very spacious and the location was perfect to discover the area of Serra Da Estrella. Breakfast was an excellent too! We would definitely come back to stay here again!

Brilliant location, spacious room with a balcony, good prices, amazing food (make it sure you try salmon and cod!). Great breakfast. Air conditioner in the room. Simple hotel, such a feeling like you are back to 80's/90's. Loved it! Amazing views to the mountains from the restaurant. Friendly staff, not speaking a single word in English, but that wasn't a problem for us.

The house was spacious and the bedroom was super cosy! The kitchen was very well equipped with everything you need for cooking. The village is adorable and the friendliness of the locals just made the experience more magical. Even though it gets chilly at night, our room was nice and warm thanks to the heating. We are very grateful for our welcoming hosts, who gave us good local recommendations. We would definitely stay here again!

The place is magical. The lady host looks to help and make the stay comfortable. Most important to ask for the exact location on the google map. The nearest cofe/restaurant/grocery is 10 min. drive. There is a nespreso coffe machinr- bring your coffe with you.

What a place! We have spent a lot of nights in different places, but never ever seen anything like this. The house is amazing, the welcome was better than anyone can expect. Right at the end of a dead end street in the most remote, tiny and quiet village, there is this beautiful restored house with breath taking views over the valley. Everything, but really everything was thought of and better than ever seen before. If you plan to go to this area, and you like remote places, this house is a must stay! The land lady (sorry, we forgot her name) lives just around the corner, and welcomed us with such a friendliness and passion for her house and the surroundings. I am sure we will be back one day. This hotel has a big swimming pool. It is placed in a beautiful location. Above the village of Piodao. The staff are very friendly and always ask if you need anything. Very comfortable seating. Alot of choice for breakfast and the dinner buffet has also got good choice in food.
