Mary (who lives in and operates the B&B) was incredibly nice and helpful, going above and beyond. She was happy to indulge my talkative nature, had advice on hiking on Mt Taranaki, and made cookies/biscuits and hot chocolate. The room was cosy and felt like home, there was a fireplace with comfy chairs, and the garden was well-kept and verdant. Excellent location too. Quiet suburban neighborhood, just 15-20 minutes' drive from New Plymouth, on easy roads. The southeastern tracks in Egmont National Park (Dawson Falls etc.) are 40 minutes away.

Such a special and beautiful place. I don't think you will get any better location in the whole of Taranaki (unless you like staying in the middle of the city). The view of Mount Taranaki and the surrounding hills were breathtaking. The house is completely new and has all the smooth, nice commodities of a modern luxury house. Would love to come back there again one day!

This is a beautiful place, clean, tastefully furnished, a feeling of luxury. It is adequately equipped for breakfast and cold meals, our host gave ideas of where to go for breakfast and it is a short drive into New Plymouth and a wealth of cafes, restaurants & takeaways. We loved the surprising & peaceful garden location, through an industrial area and then a short drive into the tranquil countryside. Communication with the hosts is excellent and you definitely get the feeling that nothing is too much trouble if you need anything at all.
