I had a wonderful stay at 182 High Street North in Carterton. The place was very cosy, warm, and inviting—perfect for relaxing after a day out. Everything was clean, comfortable, and well set up for guests. The location is fantastic, right in the heart of Carterton, making it super easy to get around and explore the local area. Shops, cafes, and other attractions are all close by. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the region!

Lovely host very quick to answer questions. The house is warm, dry and cosy. Had dehumidifier in the house. Full kitchen Shower has great pressure. Outdoor area in the back can be enjoyed in warmer days. It was wet and cold on our visit. Close walking distance to Greytown shops. Easy to get to other parts of Wairarapa. Was quite inspite of the closeness to the main road. Good sensor light outside

    Every thing was wonderful. The host was super easy to deal with, the location was perfect - so peaceful and relaxed, we did not want to leave. The unit is warm, very comfortable and has everything you need except a microwave, but we had access to the microwave in the host's kitchen, which was an added bonus. There is good parking very close, and the beautiful garden is so refreshing at the end of the day. Thank you so much for your excellent hospitality. We loved this place.

    The Alchemist Retreat is a superb studio dwelling tucked behind a stately residence in Carterton. The interior is done in a french style and has been finished with considerable attention to detail. Loved the fact there was no TV so we played some LPs from the collection. The location is an easy walk to town but there is a daairy across the road if you need something in a hurry. Carterton is a good place to base yourself to explore the Wairarapa. Its cheaper than Greytown and Martinborough but only a short drive to both.
