If you are looking for rustic, off the beaten track, accomodation, Podocarpus cottages is an excellent choice! A bit of a drive off the highway on a dirtroad (4x4 when it rains) and you are in a haven, a pleasant cottage, nice garden, stroll to a good view of Mt Kenya, and the host, Michael, is just outstanding. Will do all he can to make your stay great, and connect you with people for anything, order breakfast delivery (!), arrange a pick up of goods from a store, hook you up with a driver, safari organizer and you name it. Super pleasant stay and Michael and his crew are excellent.

We greatly liked the ambiance and the comfort. The staff is exceedingly friendly and helpful. arranging the on-site massage (excellent!) was hugely appreciated. We enjoyed the swimming pool, too. We will definitely come back.

Very interesting interior, the houses were constructed in 1800s but they are in a perfect condition. Fire place, interior design and cool arts on the walls making it feel cozy.

Large , guarded house in Nanyuki. Very comfortable for families or up to 3 couples. Master bedroom with own bathroom, fully equipped kitchen. Basically, type od accomodation where you can start living from a day one on really decent level. Owner recommend car rental agency for us as well.

I absolutely loved my time at this campsite! From the moment I arrived, Melanie and Eliud went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. They met me off the bus, spoke with the driver to make sure everything went smoothly, and even gave me a little orientation walk around the grounds. Their kindness and generosity really stood out - they were always happy to help, offering great advice and connecting me with local guides to help organise my stay. The rooms are lovely, with super comfy beds, hot water, and all the little comforts you’d hope for. The campsite itself is beautiful - full of flowers, peaceful spots to sit and relax, and even its own woodland walk, which I absolutely loved exploring every day. They also have dorm options in pre-pitched tents if you’re on a budget. Breakfast was amazing, and they provided perfect packed lunches for my day trips. In the evenings they even served a delicious dinner right at my bungalow - such a treat! The location is just outside of town in the best way - you get that calm, countryside feel while still being well connected. Matatus run along the main road right outside, making it easy to get into Nanyuki or head toward Nairobi. It’s also just next to the Trout Tree Restaurant, which is an easy walk if you’re looking for a nice lunch out. I truly can’t recommend this place enough and will definitely be returning next time I’m in Nanyuki!

Amazing incredible memories from this cottage. Fantastic facilities …gorgeous decor and Mount Kenya at the backdrop. All staffs were brilliant in hospitality. We need to come back.
