The property, which is exceptionally neat and clean, overlooks the bay and the harbour, looking south. Just 30 feet up the road there is a clearing providing a 180-degree panorama north: ideal for the lights if you are after this sort of thing. Hands down my favourite place in this part of Iceland. I have stayed there on two occasions and I will keep returning.

The cottage is located at the foot of the mountain and beside a stream. On the other side is a vast grassland. Rolling hills can be seen in the distance, which are so beautiful in the clouds that they seem unreal. There are sheep wandering nearby and it was really a blessing to see them in the midnight sun. Inside the cottage is cozy, tidy, and has everything you need.

Fornilækur Guesthouse is a recently renovated guest house in Blönduós, where guests can make the most of its garden and shared lounge. The property features river and garden views.

This was my favorite stay in all of my Iceland trip. The guesthouse was very modern, exceptionally clean, and the attention to detail in the amenities was apparent. The host Sonya was extremely friendly and the breakfast included homemade breads. Common areas were comfy as well.

Very private. Perfect location for Northern lights spotting, especially from the hot pot(tub) and deck. Very picturesque with gorgeous views from every window. Just out of town, well equipped kitchen. Quick communication responses from very welcoming hosts, who dropped by to check all was well, after I'd messaged looking for the hotpot plug, which they had replied to with the answer. Cosy, Icelandic decor just added a great vibe to the stay. Comfortable and charming, thank you.
