After the intense hike, this place is where you want to go. Comfortable room, amazing hot shower, great dinner and breakfast, kind host. It’s definitely worth the extra km’s of walking. Besides, it cuts the length of the last day of the hike to Ushguli.

The guesthouse’s location is superb, next to the church and the start of the hiking trail to Shkhara glacier. The village’s panorama viewpoint is just 3 minutes walk away, and you can be there easily in the early morning before the tourists arrive. The rooms are clean with stupendous views and en suite bathroom. Mamuka’s mother is a whiz in the kitchen: we booked dinner and breakfast with her during our 2 night stay and every meal was delicious. Home-made jams, milk from the family cows, produce from their garden and so on. Mamuka was also very responsive and helpful with advice and booking of transfer vehicle, and we learnt a lot about life in the mountains.

Where do I even start? We’ve had the very best Khachapuri in all of Georgia here and also the most chocolateyy hot chocolate in the entire world here!! The room was stunning with a lot of attention to small details and the heating worked almost too good - we had to unplug it during the night haha! We loved absolutely everything about this place - the food, the people, the atmosphere, the dogs, you name it! Would definitely come back in summer and stay here again :)

This is by far the best place we stayed on the Mestia-Ushguli trek and WELL worth the detour. Raúl is a host like no other and we loved the stories about the history of the home. The food is divine and made with love.

    The house was very clean, with super welcoming and helpful owners and plenty of delicious food. The area was peaceful, a friendly horse was standing by our window when we woke up. The daughter of the owners was especially accomodating, as she showed us around. Thank you for having us!

    This is a nice place to stay. The building is not traditional but the location is good, the food was great, basic room with private bathroom, clean, warm. The owners are very nice.

    The host is a very friendly lovely couple. We felt very well served, the room was very clean, had a good working radiator, the mattresses have been very comfortable. We really enjoyed having a private bathroom. Can really recommend, even if you have to walk a little bit further from Iprari.
