The stay with Sarah & Sam and the whole family was simply indescribably beautiful. I felt like a member of the family from the very first second. The rooms were very clean and had everything you need. The food cooked by Mery, if desired at extra cost, but the quality and flavour better than any Fijian gourmet restaurant. The tours I went on with Sam were unique. Lots of stories and wisdom that made me laugh, along with the cultural knowledge of the country and its people. I will miss you. We enjoyed everything about our stay at Maravu Taveuni Lodge. The staff does everything to make sure you are having a good time, with local guides (Rafa and Karly) arranging and going with you on the beautiful trips all over the island (like the Bouma Waterfalls, Lavena Coastal Walk, the water slide etc). The communication with Maravu was easy and efficient. Will recommend Maravu to everyone who wants to visit the beautiful island of Taveuni.

The Homestay was outstanding. The entire host family is very friendly and highly service oriented. I got a true experience of Fijian culture, which a hotel stay can not provide. They have a way of making you a part of the family. The hosts sing and play guitar to welcome you and again on farewell. The food is outstanding. I got freshly plucked, organic fruits and vegetables directly from the plant. The coconut water provided was from freshly plucked fruits. The chief hostess is an amazing chef and made delicious and yummy meals with a new combination in every meal. For all my future trips to Taveuni, I will be staying with them.

I had a perfect time with the most lovable Fiji family homestay. Sia, Charley, Jima and all the boys cared a lot for me and we had an amzing time together! Sia ist the best cook in all of Fiji, better then in restaurant i can tell, love her veggi food, fresh fish, curry and lots of fruits every day..i went horse riding with Charley, with the boys on the boat to honeymoon island for snorcheling, the reef is directly in front the homestay, amazing natural landscape! Pete the driver took me to lavena coastal walk in national park and drives you everywhere on Taveuni 😀i loved the cute dogs and the kids in the village are so fun. My room was nice, i had my own little cozy space and Sia and everyone makes everything perfect, helping me with all questions, embracing me like a daughter (as i'm travelling on my own), i felt welcome like at home. Got emerged in the real Fiji life, I came as guest and left as friend. This family is a jewel and i will never forget this beautiful time with them!

If you're looking to spend some time on Taveuni, I'd highly recommend you check out Camp Taveuni. Hosts Allen and Mary were great. They made sure I was comfortable and even helped organise a taxi for me to visit the Bouma and Lavena falls. The Place itself is really lovely - well maintained and clean! It's easily accessible from the airport and walking distance to the few restaurants in Matei. You'd be hard pressed to find a better valued stay on the island. Camp Taveuni offers dorms as well as single/double occupancy rooms. I stayed in the private room and it was great! Nothing fancy, a queen sized bed, a table with a few drawers and a fan to keep you cool. You don't need much more when you're here and living the island life. They also have a nice pool if you want to take a dip. The beach is a 10 minute walk from your room and you have a nice view of the ocean from the common area. They also have to cutest dogs (Xena and Zoe) and the sweetest cat (Miley). If, like me, you're missing your pets while you're traveling, having the cat and dogs around definitely helped! Overall a thoroughly enjoyable stay. Allen and Mary really made my trip to Taveuni special! It was great getting to know them and I'd highly recommend checking out Camp Taveuni! Vinaka Mary and Allen!
