This location is unique, a 7 km gravel trip up through the mountains near Nicoya. The views to the ocean and mountains spectacular. The sunset unforgettable. Perfect service, cocktails, restaurant, all perfect. Chris and his colleagues were communicative, friendly and told lots of interesting stories. I will never forget my stay here, not like any other place. Truly a holy mountain.

Our stay at Azul is easily in the top 5 best ever. Having travelled from San Jose through to Hojancha, to arrive in a town where there is no bars on anything and the area is so safe that people leave their front doors open, it was amazing. The hosts have clearly lived in Azul for a bit as everything is so thought through and conveniently arranged that it makes spending time there very comfortable and easy. It has all the utensils and items you need, with all the little extras like olive oil and teas provided that saves you rushing out to the shops. The place is very clean and well looked after, the bed was luxurious and the shower was perfect. The kitchen has plenty of appliances. The view from the porch is spectacular, one you could never tire of seeing, and the options to sit in reclining chairs or at the table for breakfast are all that you need. The hosts are so helpful and supporting. Our air-con remote ran out of batteries whilst we were there, so immediately the host sent somebody to provide us with fresh batteries. Every question we had was answered and helpful, and they even took us out to an incredible viewpoint that is an absolute must if you visit the area. I cannot offer enough praise for azul and it’s hosts, it has been a highlight of our time in Costa Rica and if we come back then we will be staying at Azul again.

Views were completely outstanding, looks like a little retreat in the mountains. Every detail is well thought and planned for the guest, cabins are very comfortable and super well equipped, breakfast was super tasty and huge portions and the family running this is incredibly kind and will go out of their way to make you feel at home

The villas are clean and comfortable. Nice outdoor area in the front to relax in the afternoon breeze and another area in the back with table and chairs for eating meals. The location is just outside of Carrillo which was perfect for my son and I. Very close to a large super market, a gas station and many restaurants. The kitchen in the villas is equipped with everything you need to prepare meals. If you need something just ask Bale (one of the family members/owners) and he'll most likely be able to get it for you. He brought us a blender which I'm sure will become a fixture in each room now. While we were there, construction was underway for a pool and rancho area. It looks amazing. I'll definitely go back with the rest of my family and stay there again. This would also be an amazing property for a group of family or friends to book all the cabinas (3 at the moment, with another scheduled to be built). As usual, with locations like this, there are local secrets waiting to be discovered. Bale grew up here, and he's willing to share some of those secret spots!

Nathan and his family are the best hosts we have had the opportunity to meet on our trip to Costa Rica! This accommodation is really worth it - amazing breakfast, equipped kitchen, coffee available all day. Nice pool and even better views. Their commitment is great and they did everything they could to make us enjoy our stay. 15 minutes to amazing beaches. We prefer Carrillo beach but others were also very nice.
