We can highly recommend the Orchid Tree B&B. It has a great location, close to the city center and the airport. The rooms are tastefully decorated and cozy. The exceptionally friendly landlord is always available to provide helpful tips on dining and sightseeing. The garden is a well-maintained tropical paradise, and breakfast on the terrace is simply heavenly. Everything is wonderful and invites you to stay longer. Definitely worth a visit! The seclusion of the cabin amongst the garden/trees and the excellent keypad locking arrangements meant that we didn't see anyone: owners or the occupants of the neighbouring lodge during our stay so it felt like we were in the middle of nowhere even though we knew the owners were closeby and easy to contact. Also, thoughtful little details, like the excellent Big Island travel guidebook in the cabin. Also, the filtered rainwater was delicious!
