But the BEST part of my stay: the incomparable hospitality of my hosts, Jean-Pierre and Veronique. I have never felt so well taken care of and in such capable hands anywhere else in the world that I've traveled to. JP and Vero are more than great hosts, they are great people to know and learn from. Genuine, warm, and full of insider knowledge about the area, the language, the culture and the local activities and attractions. JP and Vero helped me find everything I needed in / around Ngaparou from food to excursions to shopping. They helped me avoid tourist traps and even negotiated fair prices for tours, drivers, purchases and more. JP is a great guide and driver as well! I felt so safe on the often treacherous roads with him behind the wheel. Vero and I share a love of books and wax fabrics - I even got to visit a local nursery she volunteers at... a heart-filling experience that I will never forget! I felt so lucky to spend my birthday with these 2 wonderful people. I now think of them more as friends than as hosts. Much love and many thanks to them both!
