What we loved about the camp is that it is made by a few tents and it is on a dune. The place is quiet, clean and offers a great experience. Hilal and his brother are the most exquisite hosts we could ask for - caring and attentive.

I never imagined the experience would be so fulfilling. Staying in the desert is more than just an adventure – it’s about surrendering to the vastness of the dunes, the purest silence, the countless stars, and above all, the hospitality and vision of the young entrepreneur, Ali. His camp, Thousand Stars Desert, is simply a ten out of ten. Located deep within the Wahiba (Sharqiya) Sands, surrounded by untouched dunes, it offers only two fully equipped tents, which makes the experience truly exclusive. The fact that there are only two rooms transforms the place into something unique and deeply personal. I can’t imagine traveling all the way to the desert to be surrounded by tourists. Here, it’s just you – alone with the desert, or perhaps sharing it with one other lucky guest. My tent had a huge, incredibly comfortable double bed – as good as, or even better than, any five-star hotel. The interior felt completely cozy and inviting. At night, the temperature drops, but Ali has thought of everything: the bedding is perfect, and nothing is missing. The bathroom is just a few steps away, fully equipped and spotless – shower, toilet, bidet, mirror, toiletries – everything works perfectly. You genuinely feel at home, and then you realize: I’m in the middle of an immense desert! Next to the tent, there’s a raised platform – a sort of private viewpoint – with soft mattresses and cushions where you can lie down and watch the end of the sunset. For the beginning of it, you should climb the dunes themselves. The views are breathtaking: you can watch the wind slowly shape the sand, and later, under the night sky, a dazzling display of stars appears in complete clarity. Camels wander nearby, their silhouettes visible on the horizon at sunset or dawn – curious and gentle presences that complete the scene. When night falls, torches are lit throughout the camp, guiding your way.

Everything, the view, the facility, everything’s perfect!

I have been here last year this is my second time in this camp. I really liked the new location they added more tents and place is amazing. They improved the toilets they are more luxurious now!! The staff are lovely the buffet has lots of variety and all tasty. I highly recommend it for your vacation.

Rashid is a very welcoming host and has many stories to tell. The camp is intimate and inside the dunes, which is perfect. The food is delicious, it really is! And si diverse.

This experience is unforgettable. The tent is super cozy, I loved the colours, the warmth, and quality. The team who works in a camp are super friendly, helpful and fun. The sky is full of stars. Food was super delicious - strongly recommended to get the breakfast too (it is Omani and very nice). Special shout to Hamid, who made the best tea on the open fire and took amazing pics :) the evening activity next to the open fire on the sand was just amazing - we sang song, danced, and heard a lot about Oman. Thanks a lot!

Great boat excursion offered, nice location, charming hosting

The camp is the perfect place to disconnect and relax after a day exploring the mountains. Both the staff and the food were amazing. I would not hesitate to come back!
