Breakfast and dinner were outstanding. Tommy, the host, is exceptional – we felt totally at ease with him and his whole team, who were incredibly attentive with our 7-year-old rascal :) Since we come to Sri Lanka almost every year, we’ll definitely be coming back to Delft Village Stay!

These varied each day and were delicious . The guest house was comfortable. Our rooms were spacious and clean. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there.

My husband, two children and I shared a family room, and we had ample space and ample air conditioning. The room is off of a shared kitchen/lounge space and a balcony, which was really nice for preparing snacks and relaxing. Everything was very clean and nicely situated. The biggest highlight of this place was our wonderful hosts. The host family could not have been more gracious. We happened to be in Jaffna for the new year, and they took us under their wing, sharing their traditions (including treats, dressing, a visit to the temple and fireworks at night). Their sweet kids played with our kids and, all in all, they made us feel completely at home in this beautiful city. We're very grateful for their generosity and hospitality and would absolutely recommend this place to everyone.

Jaffna turned out to be an unexpected highlight of our trip — such a hidden gem! Highly recommended!

Free private parking is available and the homestay also features bike hire for guests who want to explore the surrounding area. This was an enchanting stay in a residential suburb not too far outside of the main Jaffna city. The house is 150 years old, and it does feel like staying in an old mansion - with the giant keys and fancy doors. The guesthouse owner was very kind and helpful, and made me delicious food for dinner. He also assisted with laundry for no charge. There is no heated water, but there is a built in "fountain" in the wall, which added to the old-timey feeling.
