Brixia cafe & Guest turned out to be a perfect choice of location and comfort for our stay in Galle. It was close to the fort which we were able to walk to easily from the small hotel, and also a 5-10 minute walk to the train station. The hotel has a very relaxing atmosphere. Our room had a large bed excellent air conditioning and a large attached bathroom. There was a large balcony area, which was excellent for viewing the neighbourhood and also for hanging our washed laundry. The breakfasts are truly gourmet. On our final day we had an early start as we had a 7:15 AM train to catch to Colombo. We were very appreciative of the staff arranging for an early breakfast before our departure. Overall our stay was the first class experience.

The room was spacious, very clean, and the temperature was great. We also had two fans in the room on top of that. The breakfast in the morning was amazing, definitely the best we've had in Sri Lanka at our hotels. Big and delicious! The mosquito net in the room was very nice as well. The family running the guesthouse were also very lovely and helpful. I would absolutely recommend to stay here.

The staff were incredibly kind and attentive; both the young man and the older gentleman working there went out of their way to help us and make sure we were comfortable. We stayed in a five-person room that had two double bed and one single, plus a shared bathroom. The room was spotless and very cozy. The bathroom has an open-style concept, which might not suit everyone for a long stay, but since we were there only for a few nights, it wasn’t a problem at all. Also, there’s a separate restroom downstairs near the restaurant, which is convenient. Breakfast was one of the highlights — they prepare your eggs exactly how you like them, and there were also warm chocolate-banana crepes, fresh fruit, and various drinks. Everything was fresh, tasty, and served with care. The pool isn’t very big, but it’s clean, refreshing, and perfect for cooling off. The garden area is lovely and relaxing, ideal for spending quiet moments outdoors. The beach is about a 15–20 minute walk away — not too close but definitely walkable. On top of all that, it’s an excellent value for money. We honestly paid much less than we expected for the quality of service and comfort we received. It’s a great price-performance option, everything about our stay was pleasant and satisfying 👏🏻

We were guests at Villa Ema for a week and it was difficult to leave. The villa is beautiful and gives you the feeling of being on holiday but at the same time a bit of home. We don't need to talk about the cleanliness - everything 10/10 and the service too. Every morning there is an insanely great authentic breakfast prepared by the grandmother. The family that manages this accommodation is just great, lovely and they turn every wish into reality. I even got a birthday present at the end. It was a wonderful holiday that I won't forget, we are very grateful for this hospitality and will definitely be back!

This is a beautiful small property set a few kilometres inland from the bustle of Ahangama amongst the rice paddy fields. The rooms are amazing and at times you feel as though you are there on your own. The staff were also fantastic. There are no shops nearby so if you need anything you will need to arrange a TukTuk (staff can order one for you) to go into town. This didn't bother us as we were looking for a bit of luxury, peace and quiet at the end of our trip. The meals on site were great as well. Would highly recommend.

The accommodation is absolutely wonderful. Each cottage is tucked away in a lush cinnamon plantation, offering guests complete privacy and a serene atmosphere. The cottages are impeccably clean and air-conditioned, ensuring a comfortable stay. The location is peaceful, just a 10-minute walk from the beach. Initially, we booked for just one night, but after experiencing this place—by far the best of the seven accommodations we stayed at in Sri Lanka—we decided to extend our stay. The host is exceptionally warm and attentive, making sure every guest feels welcome. Breakfast is another highlight, as the host thoughtfully prepares whatever guests desire, whether it's a traditional local dish or something more familiar.
