Very clean. Everything was new and it semelles amazing. The caretaker was very polite and cooked is incredible dinner. If you want to do the Safari, this place is perfect. We booked a Safari with getyourguide but you can also book directly with them.

The owners were extremely friendly and helpful. They booked a safari in Wilpattu only 1.5 days before our arrival and everything was very well organised. The safari itself was much better than expected: we had the luck to see 4 leopards, a sloth bear and 4 golden jackals, on top of many beautiful birds and reptiles. The resort provided breakfast and lunch to take on the safari, as well as snacks and drinks. Everything was very tasty and plenty. Also breakfast and dinners were very tasty and more than we could eat. All in all, we had a very good stay. Thanks so much!!!!

The location was peaceful and picturesque and the family hosting us was incredibly warm and welcoming, going above and beyond to make us feel at home – truly wonderful! The meals they prepared were the highlight of our stay, with the best home-cooked Sri Lankan food we’ve ever tasted. The host Kalahara is kind and helpful and treats guests as his family.Nothing is too much for him. PROPERTY: Lovely homestay surrounded by trees and lovely garden.The room was spotlessly clean, spacious and airy. All the facilities like hot water, airconditioning, water pressure etc was perfect. BREAKFAST:Our breakfast was included and it was the best we had in Srilanka.Its varied everyday and its plentiful and very tasty.(SEE PHOTOS) We had 2 dinners cooked by his wife and they were delicious and generous portions. TOURS: Host Kalhara will organize tours at reasonable rate and his driver is a very nice person. we did a tour and driver was very patient and took us around paddy fields. An absolute haven close to the sacred city sites of Anuradhapura. Peaceful, set back about 75m from the road. Beautifully appointed rooms and a welcoming dining/reception area - exactly as shown in the photos on this site. What the photos do not reveal is the exceptional service and kindness of the owner and all of his staff. Nor do they convey the outstanding quality of the meals served. It is rare to find a welcoming home away from home as good as Golden Ray Villa and I cannot recommend it highly enough.

This stay was SO AMAZING! it was my first stop in Sri Lanka and I’ve been traveling for 6 weeks now, and have not had as good of an experience anywhere like I had at sapphire garden! The meals are cooked whenever you want them, there’s beautiful gardens and flowers everywhere, the pool is awesome, and the hosts are exceptional! I had so much fun playing card games with Leo and Wanda! Leo worked in the tour industry, so he has connections and knowledge about everywhere. They booked everything I needed, and personally drove me places as well. I had the best time here, and will never forget my experience and the hosts who became friends!
