All meals provided were tasty and generous. The host is very friendly and helpful. Beware you can’t pay by card it’s cash only.

We left for our safari early so sadly did not get to try breakfast, but were very satisfied by the room, and appreciated the warm reception/ extra care the staff gave to our family! While there was no common space (think motel style rooms that spit out onto a outside porch) we were only there one night and it suited our needs well. The safari company was able to pick us up from this location so all worked well.

The room was spacious and clean. Each room has its own terrace, and there’s also plenty of seating in the beautiful garden. Every morning, we had breakfast in the treehouse overlooking the lake. Gamini and his wife are such lovely hosts. He picked us up from the train station, organized a safari and an Ayurveda treatment for us, and took us on a tour to see Sigiriya/Pidurangala Rock and the temples in Dambulla. His wife prepared delicious dinners and breakfasts for us. They always made sure we had everything we needed and made us feel very welcome. The Wi-Fi was also good.

The owners, Leo and Wanda, couldn’t do enough to help our stay go smoothly. They helped shape are itinerary and suggestions additions that were fantastic, eg Sri Lankan dance show at the cultural centre, organising a fabulous yoga teacher, as well as great safari. Relaxed and happy vibe to the place with lovely pool area.

Boasting a terrace, bar and views of pool, VISU VILLA hotel is situated in Habarana, 10 km from Pidurangala Rock. It is located 11 km from Sigiriya Rock and provides room service. There is free private parking and the property features paid airport shuttle service. It’s very rustic and simple. AC is very functional. There were a few hiccups, but the outstanding staff addressed everything immediately. Everything I tried on the menu was delicious. There isn’t a lot to do in Habarana, but it’s a great location to stay if you want to visit the cave temple, Sigiriya, Miniriya and Polonnaruwa. The first three are less than 30 mins away. Polonnaruwa was a fast hour.

Everything, the house is very nice, clean and well equipped (Hot water was available). The hosts were extremely kind and available! They gave us many valuable recommendations and spent time with us making sure that everything went smooth with our stay. We had a super nice dinner at their place and we highly recommend it. Following their recommendations we did a tour of the ancient city at a very reasonable price with the tuk tuk drove by Irosh. Extremely nice experience that we reccomend
