Shimanto Riverside Hideaway, a property with a garden, is situated in Shimanto, 12 km from Shimanto Historical Museum, 12 km from Ichijo Shrine, as well as 13 km from Shimanto Yasunamiundo Koen Park. Kenji was a great host. Helped us plan activities around shimanto and get reservations for dinner — and his recommendations were excellent. (Ask him about kayaking and the riverside sauna!) The house was very charming and the location beautiful. Would recommend at least 2 nights.

Situated in Shimanto-cho, EkimaehouseSamaru is a recently renovated accommodation, 13 km from Kaiyodo Hobby Museum Shimanto and 24 km from Monjudo Temple. Everything, Samaru is a great person. Pleasure to stay there. Will come back when we can.

Guesthouse Suisen is situated in Konan and offers free bikes and a garden. Comfortable room. Excellent hostess.

This guesthouse is worth the climb: located in a beautiful mountainous forest, the sounds of cities and cars are replaced by nature and animals. Takao-san is a wonderful host: he came to our car in the pouring rain with spare umbrellas and upgraded us to the largest room as we were the only guests that night. His family was also very welcoming and sweet. Everything was clean, combining the convivial guesthouse atmosphere to the traditional ryokan room architecture.

Set in Ochi and only 22 km from Hijiri Shrine, Carpe Diem Kamaida offers accommodation with lake views, free WiFi and free private parking. The host Chris was exceptional, meeting us at the property and even seeing us off at check out. The property exceeded my expectations, was clean, and in a great location near the river.

シーラニ白浜荘, a property with a shared lounge, is located in Kannoura, 500 metres from Shirahama Beach, 26 km from Mollusco Mugi Museum, as well as 43 km from Hiwasa Chelonian Museum Caretta. When we stayed here, we were the only guests, and we had the whole place to ourselves. It was great to unwind in the tranquil setting after a week on the road. Our room overlooked the crystal clear river and the forest, which was totally amazing. We were only a few minutes walk away to enjoy some forest bathing. The location was in a local village, and it was fantastic to walk around.
