The Hotel was clean and a nice big size. Private spring bath was great! There was a large window in the lounge room morning sun shine straight through. Owner of this hotel was very kind and helpful. I am very happy to find this Hotel.

The onsen experience my first was a nice discovery in and of itself with a full paronamic view of the Lake. Same excellent view from the big room. We were lucky to also have a view of Mt Fuji visible the following morning. It was a full immersive experience. We slept in kimono and on the tatami. A good night sleep!

If I could give 100 stars to this ryokan, I would do it! It was absolutely stunning experience in Nagano, the whole family and staff are extremely friendly, kind and polite. They receive lots of international travelers and they understand tourists needs. You MUST book dinners and breakfasts with them! It was amazing experience! On a practical note: rooms were authentic, hot water, heater were reliable. Location is superb, close to the temple and delicious snacks. This place is ideal for alternative travelers interested in local tradition and with the appreciation for culture and history: I wish the owners only the best customers!
