We booked a cabin for a one-night stay after our long road trip from the northern region. The staff was exceptionally friendly; she even introduced us to the charming small town and the information about the stores and restaurants that are still open for business during winter. If you prefer cooking, there is a well-equipped kitchen and a lovely greenhouse available for shared use. Some comments mentioned that the room was too small. While it is true, it was more than enough for just sleeping. The beds (and the pillows) were the most comfortable ones we had during our 16-day trip in Iceland. We would absolutely recommend this place to others who are planning to visit the Westfjords and are looking for a convenient stop on the way to the west side. Oh - and the kind staff even remind us to go out to catch the stunning northern light! :D

The Old Bookstore is situated in Flateyri and offers a shared lounge. The property has sea and mountain views. The bed and breakfast features an outdoor fireplace, a 24-hour front desk, and free WiFi is available throughout the property. This is a place with "soul". You can recognize right away how much love for details and work the owners put into it. It is just so cosy that you do not want to leave again. We also got a very warm welcome from Ágústa, who was so helpful. I can highly recommend this place.

The spacious apartment is composed of 2 bedrooms, a living room, a fully equipped kitchen, and 1 bathroom. A flat-screen TV is provided. The accommodation is non-smoking. The apartment is very clean and nicely decorated. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need — it even has a slow cooker and a rice cooker, which is very convenient. We also really appreciate the attention to small details — the curtain in the shower booth to keep dry area dry, the mirror outside the bathroom (so you can do your makeup while someone else is taking a shower), plenty of power outlets including an extra extension cord in the bedroom. Even though the room is on the second floor (this is informed clearly when booking), so carrying luggage upstairs can be a bit tiring, but the staircase is wide and not steep so it is not that hard. The code for the key box and check-in instructions were sent before arrival, and it was very easy to access the apartment. The view of Kirkjufell from every windows is superb!

The hot tub is a great perk (at the right temperature, not too hot and definitely not too cool) available 24/24. We used it a few times especially after the long drives through the Westfjords. Great location if you want to feel close to nature.
