We just stayed one night on our way from the caribean side to Monteverde and did not expect to stay in such an exceptional accomodation. The owners were very welcoming, served a tasty healthy breakfast personally in their beautiful villa with so much history. We spent a wonderful morning in the lovely big garden with many birds and their nice and well educated dogs. We can recommend this very special amiable apartments.

Definitively worth to go through these tricked ways arriving here and feeling like you're coming home. The neighbors are respectful of your privacy and it's nice to have people around just in case. Our host Pablo was very friendly and helpful, and gave us suggestions for dining as well as the best produce vendor in the area. The location is ideal - in a small quiet village [La Flaminia; not Tigre, by the way] just outside Puerto Viejo and off the main Route 4, very close to the amazing La Selva Research Station (don't miss one of their tours for incredible wildlife!), but in a quiet and secure spot - no barking dogs, roosters or traffic noise! Fabulous kitchen, great hot showers, quiet A/C: it's not in the rainforest itself, but it's a great place to relax after a day in the rainforest.
