A Hidden jewel in the Winterhoek mountains. An exciting 4x4 ride with spectacular scenery to get to the lodge. Everything needed was available. Beautiful views from the deck. Cozy bar area where kids played board games and we had a braai. Cozy atmosphere all around. Enjoyed the 4x4 route around the mountain. Will definitely go again!

The hosts of Chicane Bed and Breakfast are incredibly friendly and made the stay feel more like staying with friend’s or family. From welcoming us on arrival, giving us friendly chat at breakfast to inviting us to join their family for a drink in their stunning bar/pool area. The detached apartament is located in the secluded grounds of a citrus plantation. Hannah and Eric, who themselves live also on the property, make every effort to make you feel welcome without invading your privacy. You enjoy the peace and quiet and the singing of the numerous birds. Breakfast is a treat every morning with fresh produce from their own land. If you need anything they are immediately ready to help. You can even get laundry done or a meal prepared for a small fee. WiFi works properly, beds and shower are OK. We enjoyed the few days we stayed here, visiting Addo Elephant Park from here for two days which is definitely recommended. Another highlight of our stay was the tour Eric gave of the 50-hectare property. You now look at the oranges in the supermarket with different eyes.

Second time we stayed here. We were greeted by the very friendly hosts upon arrival, who explained everything we needed to know and more. We were welcomed with some nice treats such as home made cookies and bread, and honey from the farm. Location of the house is very quiet and fully surrounded by nature. It's a very spacious house, it has large bedrooms with comfortable beds, more than enough bathrooms and a fully equipped kitchen. This is the perfect stay when visiting the Addo region.
