We were truly grateful for the exceptional assistance provided by the property owner. His efforts in arranging our Wilpattu Safari and city tour guide made our stay even more memorable. The staff also left a lasting impression with their exceptional service. From assisting with our luggage to warmly welcoming us with a choice of coffee or tea, their constant smiles added to the warmth of our experience. The breakfast was not to be missed - every aspect was meticulously prepared, resulting in a delicious and fulfilling meal. The beauty of this place lies with the amazing hospitality and competence of the host Wasantha, and the delicious local meals prepared by his wife. You really feel at home the very moment you step into their house. The room is basic but clean and comfortable. The location is good, just a 20min walk away from the centre (where the central bus station and shopping opportunities are). We also arranged with Wasantha pick up in Trincomalee and drop off in Jaffna, with full day tour of the locations away from the city centre. He also helped arranging tours of the old city and Mihintale. We were very satisfied with these services and found his prices very competitive compared to other similar services we got throughout our trip in SL. A final word: remember, this is a homestay, not an hotel, and in that league it is a very good one.

The homestay was just like being at home so comfortable shared lounge and kitchen bonus we were there all by ourselves perfect, the family were so lovely food was awesome. We rented a tuktuk and went into the local town and spent time with the locals it was amazing we were the only tourists around recommend. Don't hesitate to stay here the family also did our laundry

We enjoyed our time at Sunhill Lake Tourist Rest. They are located right off of Kubichchankulama Lake with a walking path around the lake. The Hosts were very hospitable and gracious. The room was spacious and clean - good AC! They gave us access to a kettle in the kitchen for morning coffee.

Janaka is THE host—truly exceptional in the hospitality scene in Sri Lanka. He is incredibly kind and welcoming, making us feel completely at home, while also being highly professional and attentive to all our needs. He went out of his way to help us plan our days in Mihintale exactly as we wished—and what he managed to organize for us was no small feat! He was also genuinely concerned for our safety throughout our stay: while Sri Lanka is a very safe country, his attentiveness was still much appreciated. The food cooked by his wife was amazing—made with quality ingredients, prepared beautifully, and full of bold, authentic flavor. Easily one of the top three meals we had in Sri Lanka. If you're planning a trip to Anuradhapura or Mihintale to explore the sacred Buddhist sites, and you're looking for something authentic and off the tourist trail, stay in Mihintale. It's rich with temples and spiritual atmosphere. Stay at Janaka’s place, ask him for advice, and you won’t be disappointed.

Very clean, spacious house. Quiet location so need own transportation. Large well maintained grounds with a tree house. Kitchen facilities available to use. Tea and drinking water was provided.We arrived late and left early the following morning so didn’t want to cook and so we had to drive10 mins to nearest restaurant. If you want peace and quiet this is the destination for you. Good value for money

We had an amazing stay at this holiday home in Anuradhapura. The rooms were spacious, very clean, and up to a high standard—much better than we expected for the price.
