We had an amazing stay here — everything was truly excellent! The staff were incredibly kind and attentive; both the young man and the older gentleman working there went out of their way to help us and make sure we were comfortable. We stayed in a five-person room that had two double bed and one single, plus a shared bathroom. The room was spotless and very cozy. The bathroom has an open-style concept, which might not suit everyone for a long stay, but since we were there only for a few nights, it wasn’t a problem at all. Also, there’s a separate restroom downstairs near the restaurant, which is convenient. Breakfast was one of the highlights — they prepare your eggs exactly how you like them, and there were also warm chocolate-banana crepes, fresh fruit, and various drinks. Everything was fresh, tasty, and served with care. The pool isn’t very big, but it’s clean, refreshing, and perfect for cooling off. The garden area is lovely and relaxing, ideal for spending quiet moments outdoors. The beach is about a 15–20 minute walk away — not too close but definitely walkable. On top of all that, it’s an excellent value for money. We honestly paid much less than we expected for the quality of service and comfort we received. It’s a great price-performance option, everything about our stay was pleasant and satisfying 👏🏻

The high-speed internet access was a godsend, ensuring I could stay connected and manage my work with ease. The kitchen facilities were well-equipped, allowing me the freedom to prepare my meals just the way I like. An added convenience was the laundry facility, which was particularly useful during my extended stay. One of the highlights was the property’s proximity to the lake, offering stunning views and a sense of tranquility that is hard to find. What made our stay truly special, however, was the lovely couple who own the place. Their warm hospitality and friendly demeanor added a personal touch that made us feel right at home. Their local tips and knowledge were invaluable in making the most of our stay. Just across the road from Kabalana beach! The room is part of a separate small villa so not very social but it feels like your own home. Having a fridge is a huge bonus for cold drinks etc. There is a nice wall light you can turn off from the bed (a rarity in my experience of Sri Lanka). The hosts are wonderful and welcoming. Breakfast is great and very filling I didn’t really eat lunch whilst I was here.

The location is great, it's a quick walk or ride into town but tucked far enough back that the street noise doesn't bother you. I booked the budget room and it's wonderful, I have a desk to work, a large closet, a vanity with drawers, AND a large rack to hang all of my things on. The bed is very big, great lighting, super clean, and the breakfast is incredible. The best breakfast I've had here. The staff are so friendly, warm, and welcoming and I feel really safe here. The WiFi is also very strong - I'm able to take zoom calls for work with no issues. It's so good I've re-booked myself back here!

Our stay at Happy Stay Villa was absolutely fantastic. As a family of four, including two kids, we couldn’t have wished for a more family-friendly place. The property was very clean and well-kept, with a spacious apartment that provided plenty of room for everyone. The downstairs garden and balcony were perfect for relaxing after a day at the Kabalana beach. The host was exceptionally helpful and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. We enjoyed a delicious continental breakfast, which was provided upon request.

The villa was so peaceful and comfortable to be in. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The villa was really clean as well. We had a great time and we had BBQ nights as well for which the staff helped us a lot!
