I really enjoyed my stay, it was a completely different experience than other places I've stayed in Japan. The area has a slightly spooky, Alabama-esque feel. Maybe it was becouse of the goat outside my window, maybe the American-style buildings, or maybe, aside from meeting the lovely owners once at check-in, I didn't see a single person during my one-night stay. The room was clean, the bed very comfortable, and the air conditioning worked flawlessly (as did the Wi-Fi) a big plus for the fridge in the room (there are no shops at the area, I recommend buying some sandwiches etc earlier). It was the cheapest option I could find in the area, a bit pricey for the standard, but considering the spooky vibe (which I liked), I can't really complain. My destination was the Kamishikimi Kumanoimasu Shrine, and it was a 30-minute walk. It's about an hour's walk from the train station. It's also a 15-minute walk from the coolest old-school samurai-style restaurant I've ever been to.

Very helpful host! Due to super heavy rain, we needed to change our plan of next spot. The host sent us several suggestions even we have already left! Dinner portion is more than enough. Top notch facilities and service, staff go out of the way to make the stay pleasant. Very nice view of mountain from my room and also the public onsen. I also left my phone behind at the property and the staff helped to express courier it to my next destination. Very impressed by their service level.

Everything about my stay was amazing - the hosts were so lovely and hospitable (made me tea and breakfast, gifted me an umbrella, drove me to the bus station in the morning), and the room was great. Way bigger than a standard Japanese inn, and the bathroom had great amenities too. I enjoyed going to the local shrine, and sitting outside the hostel to enjoy the peaceful nature. I would love to stay again.

Everything was exceptionally great. Very cozy place and very clean. Surrounding environment was very nice. The “woodness” inside looks great. We were two people booking the “4-Bed Mixed Dormitory Room”, we get the whole room (with bathroom and shower) even it says “bunk bed” and “dormitory”, kitchen was shared though. I would definitely come back if I have the chance.
