Mountain view room: This renovated room was exceptional. I had all the tourist spots for photo taking ready to go, but the view was that good I didn’t bother. The bed was comfy, the mini kitchen and bathroom were immaculate and the bonus of having the yukata and kotatsu to use, gave a personal touch. I used one of two Onsen (private if you want-no extra), and it helped relax the muscles ready for the next day. The hosts were fantastic and take pride in what they offer. I had a car so journey-ing to other places was easy, but I did see some bus stops not far. They had plenty of people staying (I only saw their shoes) so it’s a great place for any amount of time to stay.

I had a 2 night stay in Konanso. The staff is very welcoming and polite, maybe it helps that i speak Japanese. However, they also speak English. Rooms are spacious, clean and with wonderful views. There is a person in charge of your stay that will bring you dinner each night and ask if you need anything. Dinner served at the bedroom is delicious, and the onsen is gorgeous. Would recommend 10/10. Breakfast is also excellent, with western and japanese food.

The staff was very attentive and accommodative. The Japanese breakfast very nice and diverse. Very good restaurant by the hotel to taste regional cuisine! The onsen experience my first was a nice discovery in and of itself with a full paronamic view of the Lake. Same excellent view from the big room. We were lucky to also have a view of Mt Fuji visible the following morning. It was a full immersive experience. We slept in kimono and on the tatami. A good night sleep!

This place was fantastic, we absolutely loved our two nights here in such a beautiful location. The host was beyond helpful and responsive. The home was comfortable, the beds were the best and overall very clean and lovely to stay in. You can even see Fuji from the top floor! Would definitely recommend.

Had a fantastic time staying at TAMAKIYA. It is beautiful, spacious and well-appointed accommodation. Was perfect for my family. It was immaculately clean. Thir house has both a western style and beautiful Japanese style room. You can see Mt Fuji from the rear tatami mat room which was a thrill. Downstairs is a lively bathroom as well as washer and dryer. The location is fabulous, just metres from a great variety of restaurants and right next door to DAISO! Value for moneu is excellent. In addition, i was impressed by the kindness of the host who had all the heaters going on for us prior to our arrival. Just loved it and wish we could have stayed longer. Highly recommend this property to anyone who would prefer staying in a house to a hotel room.

The view is absolutely beautiful. Photos don’t do justice. We wish we booked longer trip. We will absolutely come back again. The location is great we didn’t manage to get a car and thought we’d stuck however everything is pretty much walking distance and there is a really nice Japanese restaurant 5 mins walk away and a convenience store 10 mins away. We have recommended our friends to come to, thanks again for having us. This is the highlight of our trip and is probably the best place we’ve stayed in Japan.

    Not much tourist and in an ideal location. The guesthouse and neighborhood is charming and will give you a glimpse of Japanese village living. Owner is also very helpful and accommodating. Nice view of fuji. We will definitely come and stay again.

    We had an amazing time, the host went above and beyond. He found last minute dinner reservations for our large group and even had drinks and a warm bath waiting when we returned. Plenty of space to accommodate large groups and directly in the village so very easy to walk and see everything. We woke up to a stunning view of Mt. Fuji.

    It was a rainy day and we finished our activities early. The owner was very accommodating and let us check in early. The area around the Guesthouse is stunning. The walk to the bus stop the next morning through a beautiful forest. Absolutely amazing view of Mnt Fuji from the village. Hidden gem.
