My partner and I stayed at Elda guesthouse in early June for just over a week and absolutely loved it. It suited us really well with it being good value for money and very close to the Myvatn lake (great if you're a keen wildlife photographer like my boyfriend or enjoy a long cycle/run like myself!) The staff were really friendly and helpful, working hard to prepare delicious breakfasts (including salads, meats, cheeses, yoghurts, croissants, pastries, bread etc) and keep the place clean and tidy. All the staff were so kind to us, for example preparing a little breakfast the night before our early morning flight for us. In terms of other amenities, the guesthouse had everything you need for self catering with an oven, fridge and cooking facilities. There is also a supermarket just a couple minutes walk away and a hotel just down the road where we sometimes went to enjoy an evening drink and a game of chess! I also hired a bike one day. Overall, we would highly recommend this place for people with similar interests and values to us :)

We thoroughly loved the amazing view of the lava fields, which are just behind the property’s rooms. The pantry, just next to our room, is open 24 hours, which is very convenient, as coffee and tea is available. Breakfast was provided and the selection was not too bad. The room is cozy and relaxing and parking is just right in front of our room. The lady at the reception was very polite and explained to us in detail regarding our check in and the pantry’s location. Such nice service!

Aska cottage is absolutely wonderful. Very cozy , everything clean and very well thought out . Kitchen very nice and came in very handy . We even had a barbeque outside Location is amazing . You have a beautiful view of the lake and church Bathroom very clean and beautiful I was amazed by how much you can achieve in that small cottage . And everything is neat and carefully done . The cottage is a little gem near lake Myvatn. And I would have stayed longer if possible . It is quite an expensive place but you also get a high-quality cottage in a beautiful location

Would definitely recommend this accommodation. Amazing location we stayed in the huts. The hostel had great facilities for eating and well as showering etc.
