Owner Sajeev and caretaker Vijayan looked after us really well during our stay. The location is fantastic - it's outside Varkala which is great if you are looking for somewhere away from the tourist crowds but bear the beach. There was a quiet beach nearby which we had almost to ourselves at times. Swimming in the sea as the sun went down was one of the highlights of our trip to India. The room was a good size with air con and a fan. Breakfast was served outside on the terrace. There is also a washing machine for guests which was really helpful for us as we are backpacking. We were lucky enough to have visited during a Hindu festival and saw plenty of free entertainment at the temple next door. Varkala is only a short tuktuk ride away and has all sorts of different restaurants and shops. Thanks for a memorable stay!

Our stay at Kerala Cottage was an absolute delight! This is closest that I have gotten to stay near a beach with the sea being just a few steps away. You can hear the sound of the waves inside the room. Far from the hustle bustle of town, this place is serene. Great destination for a dopamine detox. What a wonderful experience to stay in a beautiful room with a spacious terrace in a lush garden. Also in the bathroom you had the garden feeling. Tastefully decorated everywhere. For breakfast you had the choice of 5 options every time. Always super delicious! Also for the fresh coffee (freshly ground coffee beans!). Quality in everything. And then the friendliness that we were allowed to experience: warm contacts! This quiet place, surrounded by nature, is also very close to the beach. Yes, we enjoyed it all the way! When possible we will definitely come back!

I really enjoyed my stay there. I’ve spent three nights it was very clean, comfortable and the owners are ready to help any time. This place is very peaceful and we can feel their passion for art. Art is everywhere it makes the place so unique and they also apply the art of living. I highly recommend this place for a peaceful stay ☀️ They also organize workshop and I was very happy to join them for two classes. I could write more and more but it’s not easy to describe a feeling so my best advice is go there and feel the vibe 😊
