Afsal is a very careful person that puts a lot of soul into the property. The place is very sweet and the location is just perfect. But beyond the charm of the space itself however is the positive vibe that it emanates. Just being there makes you feel good because of the attitude of the hosts. We had a really great stay at Sopanam Heritage. Lawrence, Rajesh and their family took care of us like we were family or friends. They helped us for everything (book tickets for Periyar park, Kalari show, spice garden,...). We really enjoyed our time in Kumily.

Room much bigger than expected for a homestay. Nice and bright, very clean. The hosts were kind, generous people who went out of their way to make my stay in Kumily a good one. The food was delicious and couldn't have been better. I would have loved to have stayed longer than my 3 nights.

A Peaceful Retreat with a Homely and Professional Touch I initially booked nearly ten nights at Thekkady House and enjoyed it so much that I extended my stay for two more nights. The house offers a homely atmosphere with a professional approach, making it perfect for solo travellers, families, or groups looking for a cosy yet well-organized environment. The two rooms on one level with an open verandah were charming, and the other level with two bedrooms, a kitchen, and a living room made it comfortable for families or groups. I recommend checking out the nearby Riya spice shop for some of Kerala's finest spices. Additionally, Thekkady House has a sister venture, Periyar Homes, located nearby, which offers spacious accommodation ideal for larger groups. The host is a lovely and dedicated woman who took great care of everything, ensuring my stay was wonderful. I’m thankful for her warm hospitality. Thekkady House is an excellent choice for a calm and convenient stop before heading to Munnar!

The hosts were so welcoming and sweet, making me feel right at home. The property is surrounded by a beautiful spice plantation, and the rooms were spacious, clean, and had an amazing balcony view. The hospitality was exceptional, and it truly became one of my best stay experiences in Kerala. If you're visiting Thekkady, I highly recommend staying at Philip Mary Farmstay!
