I had the pleasure of staying at Pelangi Homestay with a friend and we were blown away by the experience. The owners are incredibly welcoming and lovely, and Zuria, in particular, is an absolute delight. She is sweet, friendly, and cooks the most delicious food! We were lucky enough to go on two snorkeling trips during our stay, one of which was with Zuria's dad who is just as kind as his daughter. We also had the opportunity to explore the islands of Gili Nanggu and Kedis with Anton, a very nice man who showed us around and engaged us in interesting conversations. The homestay itself is impeccably clean and the atmosphere is fantastic. It's the perfect place to relax and unwind after a day of exploring the islands. We cannot recommend Pelangi Homestay enough! Highly recommend this property. We stayed in the Family Bungalow and it was fantastic (kids age 8 and 6). Whole property is clean and tidy. Spacious room with x1 double and x2 single beds. Fans and decent mosquito nets. Private bathroom and large terrace/balcony with a dining table and coffee table with seating area. Variety of activities on offer eg. bikes, kayaking, badminton, volleyball, pool table, board games and more. Did a 4hr snorkelling trip and saw beautiful coral, lots of fish and huge turtles. Boat driver was happy, helpful and safe. Staff were kind and helpful and spoke good English. Food was great - kids loved the spaghetti bolognese and mee goreng, and we loved the curries. Staff helped organise our transport to our next location - Gili Air. Would highly recommend staying here.

We had the best stay in Gili Gede, thanks to Eka! He was incredibly helpful and welcoming, making our visit truly memorable. If you’re planning to stay in Secret Gili, this is the place that will make you feel right at home. Eka went above and beyond, he even organised a great snorkeling trip for us and helped with our laundry. Highly recommended!

The location is lost in the middle of nowhere, after one month in the city not a sound at night was the most beautiful thing I ever had, the place is a little bit hard to find but once you're on the good road you just have to follow it till the end, hahahaha . In the middle of the mangrove it's super nice and fresh your literally on the black beach with nobody the beach is just for you it's amazing.

Hendi is a great host who tries his best to ensure you have a great stay. The room is exactly as seen in the pictures - very basic, but if you’re looking for an authentic experience of island life on Gili Gede then this is it! The location is right on the beach in the middle of the local’s village. There’s some Warungs near by otherwise you can walk 20 mins to the other side of the island where there’s a variety of places to eat.
