A Hidden Gem Along the Shala River – Highly Recommended! Staying at Livadhi Guesthouse was one of the most memorable parts of our trip to Albania. Nestled deep along the breathtaking Shala River, the journey there — a 45-minute boat ride through dramatic canyons and pristine nature — is an experience in itself. The guesthouse is beautifully located, offering stunning river views, crystal-clear water for swimming, and a peaceful atmosphere that’s hard to find elsewhere. I highly recommend staying at least two nights. While one day is enough to enjoy the scenery and activities, it’s in the quiet mornings — when the mist hangs low over the river and everything is still — that you truly feel the magic of this place. A big thank you to Marius and his team, who were incredibly kind and helpful. I had mistakenly booked the wrong room, but they went out of their way to make sure everything was sorted quickly and smoothly. Their hospitality made all the difference. Whether you’re looking for adventure, nature, or just some true tranquility, Livadhi Guesthouse delivers on all fronts. We really loved our stay!

The guesthouse has only 2 years that is opened it is absolutely brand new. The room was perfect with river view, exceptionally clean and the sheet were smelling so good! The place itself is incredibile and the way to reach it is simply beautiful and part of the journey. The family running the place has a strong personal history The place is a must-see of Albania, we learnt that the North-Tournism is kind of hidden in the country in favour of the South Coast to be 'preserved'. We invite everybody to come and visit this little gem instead which has more than wilderness to offer, you will find a great atmosphere and great people. Among all the other guesthouses of the place we love this one above all! Great breakfast, it has a bar and a restaurant with delicious food.

The view is simply breath taking! We don’t understand why people are arguing over wifi when there is such a beautiful landscape (even then, the wifi worked just fine for us). It is the perfect place if you want to visit Lumi Shales the next morning because it is only a few minutes of car next to it. The hosts were so nice and the locals were very helpful! Just a little tip; dont forget to bring enough cash because the nearest ATM is a 2 hours round trip.

Communication was working well, and we were well looked after from beginning to the end. We had the lakeside upstairs apartment, which was perfect. Sun chairs by the lake were perfect after swimming in the lake (is is refreshing, not cold!) Dinner was served for us in our apartment, and was really tasty, as also breakfast, especially the pancakes and figjam, as almost all incredients were locally produced by the owners or their close family/locals. Since our plans didn't work out to take ferry to Fierze, owners were helpful to find us other options and organising it. Shala river tour was definitely beautiful, but we were happy we were in may, and not in the busiest times when it's mega crowded with tourists. Would highly recommend Borealis Guesthouse, and all the best for you for the season! Thanks 🙏

Amazing stay! Everything was spotless and the view was stunning. Breakfast and dinner were homemade, delicious, and very traditional. The hosts were kind, always helpful, and shared interesting stories about Theth. The rooms were very clean and warm inside. The garden is big, with beautiful green grass perfect for relaxing or camping, and at night the sky is crystal clear full of stars. The place is very near the main locations you want to visit like “The Tower of Ngujm” and the “Gruna Waterfall”, also the cute church is like 3 minutes away by foot. They even have games for guests. Truly a 10/10 experience – highly recommended!
