This was the true highlight of the trip. Eliza, the houseboat owner, was extremely hospitable and accommodating. She made every effort to assure that the houseboat was in perfect order for us. She even had a bottle of champagne for us. The accommodations were amazing and extravagant. We wish we had more time to enjoy it.

This is one of these unique places you never forget while traveling! Why? First of all the host. Stef has created a place full of positive energy. He has thought about so many details (good lighting, little basket to put your phone next to your bed, flowers, fresh fruit etc). He is flexible, friendly and a good communicator. The salon boat is in an excellent condition. Sleeping in a boat is different then staying in a bed room. The very soft moving of the boat on the water is calming. Like the sun shining in your face when you wake up and open the curtains. The bed is superb. Very comfortable. A good shower and toilet in the small bathroom! In the boat you are able to sit (and read/relax) on two places but also outside (on the land) there is a little terrace with a sofa. Cooking is easy in the little kitchen with many tools/species. The area is peaceful. In the morning you are greeted by people kayaking on the water. A big super market is very close by (fresh croissants and orange juice for breakfast) and the center of the wonderful city Groningen just 10 minutes walking away. We loved staying at 'The Wending'!!!

Breakfast was more than satisfactory, and the hostess is very available for anything you need. The place is friendly and comfortable: It is a boat, so spaces are narrow but it could not be different! From the Groningen railway station it can be easily rejoined on foot
