It was the perfect houseboat experience! The lounging area was spacious and comfortable, and my partner & I very much enjoyed sitting at the top and waving to people on the way, watching everyday normal life unfold. Our favorite part was actually docking at a small village and walking through gorgeous, raw backwater life. The food was amazing as well, an authentic taste of Kerala cuisine. The staff was top notch and attentive. The room and the large bed was also amazingly comfortable- I was surprised at how luxurious a houseboat could feel! And what a splendid experience to draw the curtains in the morning and find yourself rocking in water.

Thara's houseboat was exceptional. The 3 staff did everything to make our stay memorable. The chef went out of his way to cater for our vegan members and the food was outstanding. The guide had great knowledge of the area.
