Otherwise we had a lovely stay and our hosts were very welcoming and friendly.

We arrived after 9pm and the night guard who was running the reception was very on the ball. We drove up to the gate, he was expecting us, and opened the gate for our car immediately. The shower in the bathroom was probably the best one we had staying in many places in SA, as the hot and cold water ran constantly and one did not have to adjust the water when the hot or cold cut out! So basically a good bathroom. A safe place to stay as you are in a kind of compound with a wall around the whole place. We were heading to the Mandela museums at Qunu and Umtata, so staying in Butterworth was the perfect place to overnight.
