Overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, Casa das Proteas is located at Estrada das Covas nº8, São Jorge, Madeira Island, 50 km from Funchal. The location is excellent as a starting point for several hikes. It was a wonderful experience that was made exceptional by the kindness we received from the owner Teresa and the other members of the staff. We had dinner several times here during our stay and it was always delicious and served in a lovely and familiar atmosphere.

Situated in a restored 18th-century home, Casa Da Piedade offers a lounge with fireplace, outdoor garden with barbecue and brightly decorated rooms. Wi-Fi and parking are free. What a gem of a place.. so many extra special touches that made our stay exceptional. The place itself is simply divine in it's decor, extremely clean and the breakfast was outstanding. The warm and lovely staff really make you feel at home.

Host was really clear in the instructions and willing to help with anything we needed. The house is really spacious and clearly well taken care of. The hot tub is a nice touch. The shower was perfect. We want to mention how grateful we are for the flexibility of our host, with a special request of ours... It really helped us out when we needed it. Would recommend this place to stay at. Kitchen well equipped, coffee machine was nice, fridge was nice and big.

Great view, comfy bed, cozy house - just like its name, nice and clean bathroom with access to 2 terraces. Would love to come back any time, 100% suggest it to anyone.

The host is very available, responsive, friendly and welcoming. Check in is completely seamless. The property has a beautiful, sizable garden with a great view of the town and ocean. My partner and I absolutely loved our stay in this property because of all the attention to detail that the host put towards the furnishing and decoration of the apartment, which is a rarity. Some places are furnished expensively but in an impersonal and cold style, but this one is truly someone's home, with great character, that the host is sharing with you.

We stayed in the room with the balcony and we really enjoyed our stay. Pedro, a member of the hotel staff, contacted me beforehand via whatsapp, as we arrived on a Sunday and had to do our own check-in. It was all really well explained and he even arranged that our room would be ready earlier. We felt very welcomed from the beginning. The Quinta is a beautiful place, we really enjoyed that it was so quiet and that we had a breeze and stunning view from the balcony. Walking to Funchal is very easy, you can also get a Bolt which was between 5 to 10 Euros. Also the bus is very convenient, only that it doesn't pass by so often (once per hour on average). We also liked the breakfast with the varying fruit and some days we got typical portuguese pastry. We would highly recommend staying at the Quinta!

The owners were really nice and attentive. They had a very well-equipped kitchen with everything we needed for cooking and a space in the fridge to store the food. The place has a nice view of the ocean and a common place to sit around and chill. The room was clean and tidy. They have shared bathroom supplies if needed. My partner and I enjoyed the stay with them and they were helpful with a few requests we had. Thank you

The village has a good location to go to Madeira trips from. The accommodation is on hill, so you definitely need a car (but it is must have for Madeira over all). House is good equipped, everything was very clean. Beds were comfortable and owner is kind and willing to help. In the context of the price, this accommodation is really a gem :)
