The family who own the property are incredibly kind and helpful with anything you might need while you’re in Marissa. I loved the simple designed room. They felt spacious and clean. I had to make an important video call while I was staying there and the WiFi worked perfectly. Also the rooms are sealed up so it’s pretty much impossible to get mosquitos in there unless you leave the door open.

There is a private bathroom with bidet in some units, along with bathrobes, slippers and free toiletries. At the guest house, some units are soundproof. Stayed here 2 days. Wish we stayed longer. The location is amazing, quiet but very close to the beach. The room is very spacious and very nice. The outdoor bathroom was the biggest selling point. The lady that owns it is SUPER nice.

The Surf Lodge is beautifully decorated with a lot of love and taste. It offers amazing breakfast and a direct access to the beach. It is managed by the super kind Che who was always very attentive to help us organize a few things around the area. What we particularly loved about the hotel (apart from the amazing spacious rooms and the delicious (vegetarian) food) was that it is Che’s family home and has such a friendly and calming vibe :) it’s only a short walk to local restaurants and bars and Madiha’s main beach is also only a few minutes away. The location is very good, just a few minutes from the beach and some lovely restaurants, and being just outside of Matara itself is perfect as Polhena is beautiful! Highly recommend Blooming Polhena!

Great location, right by the beach! The beach is great for a swim and less than a 5min walk to Turtle point where you can snorkel and see fish and turtles! Great and varied breakfast with a view. The room is beautifully designed and was kept spotlessly clean throughout our stay!
